Night Drive The Story So Far...

Night Drive The Story So Far...

Chapter 1

The neon lights flickered in the damp alleyway, casting eerie shadows that danced on the cracked pavement. Ava pulled her coat tighter around her as she approached the entrance of the club. The sound of muffled bass thumped through the thick walls, promising a night of revelry to those who entered. But Ava wasn’t here for the music or the drinks—she had a mission.

The bouncer gave her a once-over, his eyes lingering a moment too long before nodding her in. She stepped into the pulsing heart of the nightclub, the smell of sweat, alcohol, and something darker hitting her like a wave. Ava hesitated, scanning the room. She needed to find Victor.

Victor, the club’s owner, was a man of many faces, all of them hiding something sinister. He was the kind of man who could charm you with a smile while slipping a knife between your ribs. Ava had seen it firsthand. Her sister had vanished after getting too close to him, and Ava was determined to find out what had happened.

As she moved through the crowd, she felt eyes on her. It wasn’t just the drunken patrons; someone was watching her with intent. She tried to shake off the feeling, focusing on her target.

There he was, sitting in a private booth at the far end of the club, surrounded by sycophants. Victor’s dark eyes caught hers, and he raised a glass in mock salute. Ava’s heart raced, but she forced herself to approach, her mind racing with the lies she’d prepared.

Chapter 2

“Ava, what a surprise,” Victor said, his voice smooth as silk. “I didn’t expect to see you here tonight.”

“I’m looking for help,” she replied, keeping her voice steady. “I’ve heard you’re the man who can get things done.”

Victor’s smile widened, but it didn’t reach his eyes. “I do have a reputation for that. What kind of help are you looking for?”

Ava leaned in, her voice dropping to a whisper. “I’m looking for someone. I think you might know where they are.”

Victor’s eyes narrowed slightly, but he remained composed. “And who might that be?”

“My sister,” Ava said, barely managing to keep the tremor out of her voice. “She disappeared after coming here. I just want to know what happened.”

Victor studied her for a long moment before his smile returned, sharper than before. “Perhaps we can discuss this somewhere more private.”

Before Ava could respond, a figure appeared beside her, moving with a grace that belied his imposing presence. She turned to see a man in a mask, his features obscured but his intent clear. He was here for the same reason she was—or perhaps something more.

“Ava,” the masked man said, his voice low and commanding. “Step away from him.”

Victor’s eyes flicked to the masked man, annoyance flashing across his face. “And who might you be?”

“A friend,” the masked man replied, his gaze never leaving Victor. “And you’re coming with me.”

Ava’s heart pounded as the tension between the two men crackled in the air. She wasn’t sure who to trust, but the masked man seemed to know more than he was letting on. Before she could decide, the club’s doors burst open, and a blood-curdling howl filled the room.

Chapter 3

Chaos erupted as the club’s patrons scattered in all directions. Ava’s breath caught in her throat as she saw the source of the noise—a hulking figure, half-man, half-beast, with eyes that gleamed with malevolence. The Wolf Man had arrived.

“Get out of here!” the masked man shouted at Ava, drawing a weapon from beneath his coat. Ava hesitated, torn between the instinct to flee and the need to stay and fight. But the decision was made for her as the Wolf Man lunged toward them.

The masked man fired his weapon, the bullets tearing through the air with deadly precision. But the Wolf Man was fast, too fast, and the shots barely slowed him down. He crashed into the masked man, sending him sprawling.

Ava scrambled backward, her eyes wide with terror as the Wolf Man turned his gaze on her. There was something otherworldly about him, something that didn’t belong in this dimension. And in that moment, she realized that the stories she’d heard, the rumors of creatures from other worlds, were all true.

She barely had time to react as the Wolf Man charged at her, his claws slashing through the air. She tried to dodge, but he was too quick. Pain exploded in her side as his claws tore through her flesh, sending her crashing to the ground.

Chapter 4

The masked man was back on his feet in an instant, his weapon trained on the Wolf Man. He fired again, this time with more precision, and the bullets found their mark. The Wolf Man roared in pain, staggering back, but he wasn’t done. He turned on the masked man with a snarl, his wounds already beginning to heal.

Victor watched the battle unfold, a smirk playing on his lips. He had no intention of sticking around to see who won. With the chaos providing the perfect cover, he slipped away, disappearing into the shadows.

Ava’s vision blurred as she tried to crawl away, blood seeping through her fingers as she clutched her side. The pain was unbearable, but she forced herself to stay conscious. She couldn’t die here, not without finding out what had happened to her sister.

The masked man was losing ground, the Wolf Man’s relentless assault pushing him back. But he fought with a determination that matched the beast’s fury, each movement precise and calculated.

“Ava, run!” he shouted, but she was too weak to respond. The Wolf Man’s eyes locked onto her again, sensing her vulnerability. He moved toward her, his growl vibrating through the floor.

The masked man saw the shift in the Wolf Man’s focus and charged, using the last of his strength to knock the beast off balance. But the Wolf Man was ready this time. With a vicious swipe, he sent the masked man crashing into a wall, his body crumpling to the ground.

The Wolf Man loomed over Ava, his breath hot and rancid as he snarled down at her. She braced herself for the end, her heart pounding in her ears. But just as he raised his claws for the final strike, a deafening roar echoed through the club.

The masked man, battered and bleeding, had one last trick up his sleeve. He activated a device on his wrist, and a pulse of energy erupted from it, slamming into the Wolf Man and sending him flying across the room.

Chapter 5

Ava’s vision faded in and out as the masked man staggered to his feet. He limped over to her, his breathing labored, and knelt beside her. “Stay with me, Ava,” he murmured, his voice barely above a whisper. “We’re not done yet.”

But Ava could feel the darkness closing in, the pain dragging her down into unconsciousness. She looked up at the masked man, trying to hold on, but it was too much. The last thing she saw before everything went black was the masked man’s desperate expression as he called her name.

The Wolf Man rose slowly from the wreckage, his wounds already beginning to close. He locked eyes with the masked man, a silent promise of revenge hanging in the air. The battle wasn’t over—it had only just begun.

Victor, now far from the club, watched the carnage unfold on a small screen, a satisfied smirk on his lips. He hadn’t planned for the Wolf Man’s arrival, but it had worked out better than he could have hoped. Ava was out of commission, the masked man was on the ropes, and he had gotten away clean.

For now.

But Victor knew this was just the beginning. The artifact still called to him, its power waiting to be unleashed. And when the time was right, he would return to claim what was his.

The masked man cradled Ava in his arms as the club burned around them, the flickering flames casting long shadows on the walls. He knew they had only bought themselves a brief reprieve. The Wolf Man would return, and so would Victor. The fight was far from over.

And in the darkness, somewhere between worlds, something stirred. The artifact’s power pulsed, sensing the coming storm. The dimensions were closer than ever, the barrier between them weakening. The convergence was near, and when it came, there would be no turning back.

Ava’s breath was shallow, her life slipping away as the masked man held her tighter, unwilling to let go. He couldn’t lose her—not now, not when they were so close to uncovering the truth. But the night had other plans.

The Wolf Man let out a low growl, his eyes glowing with a malevolent light as he prepared to strike again.

And then, darkness.
